PermitAnswer

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026. Short version: we collect very little, we do not sell anything, and you can reach us at the address below.

What we collect

Server logs. Like every web server, ours records the IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited each time a page is loaded. Logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and diagnostics, then deleted.

Aggregate analytics. We use privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and understand which content is useful. No cookies are set for this purpose; no individual visitors are tracked across sessions or across sites.

Contact messages. If you email us or submit a correction, we keep your message and email address to respond and to improve the data. We do not add you to any mailing list.

What we do not collect

  • We do not require you to create an account.
  • We do not place advertising cookies or share data with ad networks.
  • We do not collect payment information — the site is free to use.
  • We do not track you across other websites.

Cookies

PermitAnswer does not set any first-party cookies. If you are located in the EU or California, no opt-in or opt-out banner is required for a site that uses no tracking or advertising cookies. Should that change, this policy will be updated and a notice will be added to the site.

Third-party services

Pages link to Municode (the city code publisher) and, in some cases, to city or state building department websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies; we do not control them and are not responsible for their data practices.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
